Many consider the Milwaukee Bucks' duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard one of the best superstar pairings of all time because of their resumes. "The Greek Freak" is a two-time league MVP and former DPOY winner, while Dame is an eight-time All-Star and a six-time All-NBA team member.
But if you compare them to the other duos in the NBA, ESPN's Kendrick Perkins says that Milwaukee's pair is just the third-best tandem in the league behind Jaylen Brown/Jayson Tatum and Jalen Brunson/Karl-Anthony Towns.
Perk picking the Jays over everybody else wasn't a surprise, but him taking the New York Knicks pair over Antetokounmpo and Lillard was somewhat surprising. However, Kendrick gave his explanation.
"Right now, in this short season, they have mastered the pick and roll game," said Perkins. "They are the best pick-and-roll duo in the league. Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson."

Many wondered how the KAT trade would work out for the Knicks. Brunson had always been a scoring point guard, and Towns had always been an offensive center. But after a slow start, the two have started to play well together, and Karl has thrived as Jalen's running mate in the Big Apple.
Last week, Synergy Basketball revealed that the KAT-Brunson tandem is the league's most prolific pick-and-roll duo. The Bucks' superstar pair is six spots below the Knicks pair in their rankings. That, however, is only one of the reasons, according to Perk.
"Here's why I give them the edge over Giannis and Dame: When it comes down to Dame, I think Dame is always going to rely heavy on his three-point shot. Jalen Brunson, he got the midrange, he got the floater when his three ball's not falling, he gets to the free throw line as well," added Perkins.
While Lillard can score in multiple ways, he prefers to shoot from three-point range more than anywhere else. 45.3% of Dame's total shots this season have come from behind the arc. You can't blame him, though, as he's always been known to be a knockdown shooter from three-point range.
On the other hand, Brunson has developed a consistent three-point arsenal and is even shooting better than Damian from deep this season at 43.2 percent versus 37.1 percent. However, JB is taking 3.1 fewer three-pointers per game than Dame. 63.8 percent of Jalen's shots have come from inside the distance, and these come from drives, floaters, and mid-range jumpers.
This, however, does not mean that Brunson is a better player than Lillard or that he is playing better this season. What this means is that Jalen has more ways to score than Dame, and as Perk says, this flexibility makes him and KAT a better pair than Giannis and Dame.
