The Golden State Warriors are 2-0 following a thrilling overtime win against the Denver Nuggets, 137-131, on Thursday, giving the fanbase high hopes for the new season. With all the anticipation, there are still major questions surrounding the organization.
Prior to Thursday's game, head coach Steve Kerr joined the organization's flagship radio station, 95.7 The Game, for the drive-time show "Willard & Dibs" and answered some of those questions as the new season gets underway. Answers for others, though, will only be revealed through time.
The team is making a conscious effort to keep its core nucleus healthy and ready for a grueling regular season and playoff push. If it can manage its workload by resting players on the back end of back-to-backs, it should have an opportunity to navigate the NBA regular season, staying healthy for a playoff push.
Since the Warriors acquired Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline last year, they have a record of 29-8 when he, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are on the floor together during the regular season and the playoffs.
Even though Golden State’s core is considered older compared to other cores around the NBA, they are still performing at a high level, able to compete with anyone in the NBA.
After a long stalemate leading to an extension for Kuminga, there has been speculation that a split is imminent due to a lack of trust between the two parties.
Kuminga wants a bigger role with the team, but it needs him to play a certain way. The question is whether he can be productive on the court with Curry, Butler and Green. Kerr said he likes the way Kuminga is playing and thinks he can be a big part of the team.

Through the first two games of the season, Kuminga has shown that he can play the way that Kerr and the coaching staff want him to. Kuminga’s dedication to rebounding, defending the opposition's best wing player and making good decisions on the court has been rewarded by Kerr trusting him to start and close games.
The organization is in a win-win situation if Kuminga plays well this season. The ideal scenario is that if he can provide what they need him to do, then there is no reason for them to part ways. If they do part ways and find a trade partner, they would have the potential to add another star-caliber player to their roster.
The most pressing question is whether they are a legitimate title contender. They have a nice nucleus, with a mix of veterans and young talent with different skill types and body types throughout the roster. The Western Conference seems as competitive top to bottom as the NBA has ever seen, but Kerr believes the Warriors can match up with any team.
"We're confident that if we can get to the playoffs in one piece, we can beat anybody."

The Warriors started the season with two wins against formidable Western Conference teams led by generational players like Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic. They have already shown they are a threat in the Western Conference.
With contributions made by different players on the roster, led by Curry, Butler and Green, the fanbase should have a lot of confidence to start the season. If fortunate with health and a little luck, this team can compete with any squad in a seven-game series and battle for a championship.
