Tyrese Haliburton does it again and buries Thunder in Game 1

Tyrese Haliburton has been the story of the NBA playoffs and did not let up in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night.

Haliburton made the winning shot to give his Indiana Pacers a 111-110 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the NBA Finals at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. The Thunder had the upper hand and were leading 110-109 with 22.8 seconds left. They had 14 seconds on the shot clock and inbounded the ball to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. SGA drew down the shot clock and then made his move but missed a pull-up jumper with around 10 seconds left. The Pacers got the rebound and Haliburton wanted the ball. He then went to work on Cason Wallace and shot a jumper from just inside the 3-point line. It went in with 0.3 seconds left to give the Pacers a 111-110 win.

This is a familiar feeling for Haliburton, who has been a hero throughout the postseason. He has had winning shots against the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, and now the Thunder. He’s on an unreal run.

Tyrese Haliburton is at least the first player of the tracking era to have a game-winning or game-tying shot in the last three seconds of overtime or regulation in all four playoff rounds.
