Victor Wembanyama has taken his game to such a level where he isn’t competing with other players, but entire NBA rosters!

Victor Wembanyama has started the 2025-26 NBA season with a level of ferocity we haven’t seen from him in the past.

The San Antonio Spurs standout has been incredible in the Spurs’ first three games, helping them get to a 3-0 start to the season.

Wemby’s summer training with Hakeem Olajuwon appears to have paid off, as the star is looking comfortable on both ends of the floor.

Wembanyama is setting records even Tim Duncan couldn’t so far. And after the Spurs’ win over the Brooklyn Nets, Wemby is quite literally a class apart from every other NBA player.

Victor Wembanyama has blocked more shots than 24 NBA teams

To start the season, Victor Wembanyama has blocked 18 shots in three games. This means he’s averaging a whopping 6.0 blocks per game.

What makes this strong start to the season even more impressive is the fact that Wembanyama is out-blocking more than half the teams in the entire league.

Only six teams in the NBA, including Wembanyama’s Spurs, have registered more blocks than the 18 that Wembanyama has gotten so far.

Team/Player Total Blocks
Detroit Pistons 26
San Antonio Spurs 24
Memphis Grizzlies 20
Boston Celtics 19
LA Clippers 19
Sacramento Kings 18
Victor Wembanyama 18
Milwaukee Bucks 17

This is an incredible defensive start for Wembanyama, who is aiming to win the Defensive Player of the Year award this season.

Victor Wembanyama looks more dangerous than ever before

Victor Wembanyama is playing the best basketball of his young career so far. In his first three games, Wembanyama is averaging 33.3 points per game.

What’s even more impressive is that he’s shooting over 36% from beyond the arc, which is excellent for a center in the NBA.

Unlike years past, the Spurs actually have other solid complementary pieces around Wembanyama, with Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper also delivering at a high level.

There is a genuine chance that the Spurs will make a deep playoff run this season, especially if they keep the pace Wemby has put them on to start the season.
