What Could Be Next For Steve Nash?

It has been a very turbulent and tumultuous season for the Brooklyn Nets, and we’re not even three weeks into the NBA season.

One of the casualties of the Nets’ ineptitude has been Steve Nash, their now-former head coach who left his post after both sides mutually agreed that he would do so.

It has been rumored that Ime Udoka, who was suspended by the Boston Celtics recently, is going to be hired to succeed Nash.

But what does the future hold for the Hall of Fame point guard?

He clearly has a good intellect when it comes to basketball, at least offensively, and he can now say he has some experience, even if his time in Brooklyn wasn’t exactly a fruitful or pleasant experience.

Where Does Nash Go From Here?

Dealing with the gnarly mess of egos on the Nets, particularly someone as stubborn and misguided as Kyrie Irving or someone who appears as mentally weak as Ben Simmons, must’ve been exhausting for the first-time head coach.

At least now Nash can relax and recenter himself, which in itself should be valuable and beneficial for him.

Nash was never the right head coach for such a roster with such exalted expectations, and if one wants to characterize his time in Brooklyn as a failure, that may be fine.

But fortunately, it doesn’t appear it will damage his reputation around the NBA.

Reportedly, the Charlotte Hornets, who, with a 3-7 record, have their own problems, have invited Nash to spend some time around the team.

The ideal situation for him would seem to be a young team that has no expectations, where he and his players can have fun, work hard, fall in love with the process, embrace failing forward and work in an atmosphere of optimism and positive energy.

The Hornets, who are one of the league’s youngest teams and have a budding star in LaMelo Ball, seem to fit that description.
