10 best players still available in the NFL Draft

The first round of the NFL Draft is in the books. As we enter Day 2 and Rounds 2 and 3, here are the 10 best players still available on the draft board.

A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss

D.K. Metcalf got more press following the combine, but Brown was the most productive wide receiver last season at Ole Miss. He had 1,320 yards receiving after gaining more than 1,200 yards in his sophomore campaign, and he could be a more polished route runner from the beginning of his career.

Cody Ford, OT, Oklahoma

Ford is a massive and mauling offensive lineman who could fill in at tackle or guard immediately. It's possible that an abbreviated combine due to injury hurt his stock, but he looks like an excellent value on the second day of the draft.

Will Grier, QB, West Virginia

It's not unexpected that Grier is available on the second day of the draft, but he's the most accurate quarterback still on the board. A winner at both Florida and West Virginia, Grier completed 67.0 percent of his passes for 3,864 yards and 37 touchdowns last season. He could be the most NFL-ready passer remaining after the first day.

Drew Lock, QB, Missouri

Lock's availability in the second round is a surprise. He has a strong arm and throws a beautiful deep ball, and he also got more accurate as his college career progressed. However, Lock had issues with short throws and reading defenses before last season, which could explain why he has dropped in the draft.

D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss

Metcalf is quite the physical specimen, running a 4.33 second 40-yard dash, tying for the wideout lead with 27 bench reps and showing off a 40.5 inch vertical at 6-foot-4, 230 pounds. However, he ran the third-slowest time at the position in the three cone and had injury issues in college. After some buzz following the combine, his name has cooled in recent weeks.

Byron Murphy, CB, Washington

Arguably the best cornerback entering the draft, Murphy is coming off a terrific season at Washington with four interceptions and 58 tackles. He lacks the size and speed of fellow cornerback prospect Greedy Williams but should be able to contribute immediately.

Irv Smith Jr., TE, Alabama

Smith is an athletic pass catcher who is coming off a great season at Alabama with 710 yards receiving and seven scores. His combine results weren't quite as impressive as those of the Iowa duo of T.J. Hockenson and Noah Fant, but he's a tight end with rare potential to start in his rookie season.

Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida

Taylor had a huge slide down draft boards despite a productive college career. He has experience at both guard and tackle and could be an immediate starter who shouldn't last much longer on Day 2.

Greedy Williams, CB, LSU

Williams was a productive cornerback at LSU and blew up the combine with a 4.37 second 40-yard dash. However, there were questions about his tackling ability and willingness to get his nose dirty, which could be why he's still available on Day 2.

Rock Ya-Sin, CB, Temple

Ya-Sin has only one year of major college ball experience but was productive for Temple last season. He's an aggressive cover corner with great athleticism and ample height at 6-foot-2. Given his physical traits, Ya-Sin is unlikely to last much longer.
