Trenches are key, being able to protect and attack the quarterback will make or break your game. When you look at teams like Jacksonville, they have a franchise QB that they can’t keep upright, which shows when you look at the product on the field. The 2025 NFL Draft crop of edge rushers has some talent, we have some that are elite at getting to the quarterback, as well as strong against the run or able to drop back into coverage to some extent.

Pearce is the cream of the crop in this draft class, and I have him in a tier of his own as he can do it all, either standing or with his hand in the dirt. The next 5 players are my next “tier” of edge rushers, and based on your needs they have some powerful tools that could have them in play for day 1/2 draft status come next spring.
Of all the players on my list, I could see Jack Sawyer making a push to go in the top 1-3 edge rushers. He’s got a motor that doesn’t quit (think Hutch Lite), and he’s got a great burst off the snap, if you can help him develop his moves, with his bend and get off, you could see an elite-level edge rusher. It’ll be interesting to see what NFL teams think of where they’d play him, be it a hand in the dirt 4-3 edge or standing up in a 3-4 but I could see him being one of the next great edge rushers at the next level.
