San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Piñeiro has been outstanding since joining the team, and the NFL took notice. On Thursday, Piñeiro was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October, recognizing his consistency and clutch performances throughout the month.

Piñeiro was perfect throughout October, converting all 10 of his field goal attempts and all six extra-point tries. His hot streak included back-to-back games with four made field goals—against the Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers—and a career-long 59-yarder in Week 5 versus the Rams.
Since signing with the 49ers in September, Piñeiro has been nearly flawless, connecting on all 17 field goal attempts and missing just one extra point. His field-goal streak marks the longest by any new 49ers kicker in franchise history, surpassing Robbie Gould, who made 15 straight in 2017.
The 49ers signed Piñeiro after parting ways with former third-round pick Jake Moody. Piñeiro originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders in 2018 and has since played for the Chicago Bears, New York Jets, and Carolina Panthers before finding success with the 49ers.
