Aaron Donald signs new deal, but not with Rams
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams are actively looking for ways to strengthen their roster for a championship run, and speculation about future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald is gaining traction. According to Ian Rapoport from NFL Network, Donald has been progressively increasing his training regimen to determine if he is ready for a comeback in the NFL. This comes after a summer in which Los Angeles made bold moves to acquire elite talent like Myles Garrett. As a result, rumors about Donald potentially un-retiring to join the defensive front have generated excitement throughout the league.

While fans await Donald’s decision regarding his football career, he is taking significant steps off the field. A report from Front Office Sports reveals that Donald has signed with Jon Rosen’s management team at Envisionary to enhance his business ventures, brand partnerships, and overall media and entertainment presence. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year is also working on a docuseries. This new representation deal positions Donald for a high-profile career in broadcasting or entertainment after football, coinciding with growing speculation about his comeback, particularly after the Rams acquired Garrett and head coach Sean McVay said discussions were “trending upward.”

Ultimately, the decision will depend on Donald’s personal expectations for his performance on the field. In ESPN’s latest training camp report, Rams general manager Les Snead provided a lighthearted update on Donald’s mindset, stating that Donald is testing the limits of his body in workouts because he refuses to return as a lesser version of himself. Snead humorously remarked, “Whatever his rating was on Madden when he left, that’s what he wants his rating to be.”
