Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers had nothing but nice things to say about a former foe and legendary Steelers QB following Pittsburgh's upset win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9.

During Rodgers' postgame press availability, he heaped praise onto retired Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger's play, even going so far as to label the Steelers as "Big Ben's team."

"I enjoyed watching him play over the years because he wasn't the fastest guy but he was hard to take down. He was always swinging that ball around, keeping the plays alive," he said. "This is Big Ben's team, I'm just happy to be a part of the organization now."

Steelers Legends Gather to Commemorate Super Bowl XL

Roethlisberger is one of the most legendary Steelers of all time, playing his entire 18 year career with the Steelers and winning two Super Bowls with the team. Following his retirement in 2021, the team has struggled to find a solid signal caller to replace him. While Rodgers is having greater success than his predecessors, Kenny Pickett and Russell Wilson, his age makes him only a temporary solution.

Roethlisberger and other Steelers legends, including Joey Porter and Jerome Bettis, were in attendance at the game to commemorate the upcoming 20th anniversary of Super Bowl XL. Roethlisberger led Pittsburgh to a 21-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks at Forbes Field in Detroit in the 2006 matchup, securing the team's fifth championship.

Rodgers knows Roethlisberger's power all too well. Just five years after the Super Bowl XL win, Rodgers would trump Roethlisberger's Steelers in Super Bowl XLV as starting quarterback for his former team, the Green Bay Packers.

Steelers Dominate Colts

Rodgers, a legend in his own right, had a successful outing vs. Indianapolis, completing 25 of 35 passes, the most of any game so far this season, for 203 yards and two touchdowns. The Steelers won the contest with a final score of 27-20, bringing Pittsburgh's record this season to 5-3. At 41, Rodgers is the oldest quarterback in the league, having spent 18 seasons with the Packers and two with the New York Jets before signing with the Steelers for what is likely his final season in the NFL.

It was an even more successful game for the Steelers' struggling defense, who managed to put a stop to Colts' breakout star running back Jonathon Taylor. The Steelers also forced six turnovers from the Colts offense, opening the door for Rodgers and co. to secure the victory.
