There may be some drama brewing between Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson and former teammate Dalton Schultz, now with the Houston Texans.

On Friday, Ferguson posted a cryptic story on Instagram of the Cowboys' locker room, featuring the motto "It is a privilege, not a right, to play coach and work for the Dallas Cowboys." Ferguson didn't mention anyone by name in his story, but given recent events, he didn't really need to.

Earlier in the week, Schultz, who played tight end from the Cowboys from 2018-2022, The Pat McAfee Show to voice his grievances over the team's culture, which he compared to "a zoo."

"But the focus [in Houston] is just football," Schultz said. "Going back and telling some people [about the] Cowboys ... describing some of the interactions and stuff that you see on a day-to-day basis, surprised a lot of people.

"There’s people literally going on tours while you’re lifting in the weight room. And they’ve got a one-way mirror for people to like look at, it’s literally a zoo, dude."

Putting two and two together, it's not hard to see that Ferguson likely posted his story as a response to Schultz' comments.

The two tight ends played together for just one season in 2022, when Ferguson was a rookie. Schultz, who played under the franchise tag that season, wound up going across the state to Houston afterwards, leaving the door open for Ferguson to take over as the top tight end.

Ferguson is coming offa solid first season as a a starter, catching 71 passes for 761 yards and five touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl selection. Above all, though, it seems like he truly loves playing for America's Team.
