As is typically the case, the Ohio State Buckeyes were well represented during the first day of the NFL's 'legal tampering period' on Monday, in which pending free agents can begin to legally negotiate deals with prospective teams.
In fact, six different Buckeyes agreed to deals with new teams on Monday, starting with offensive guard Jonah Jackson, who signed a huge three-year, $51 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams.
Jackson had spent the previous four seasons with the Lions, where he helped lead Detroit to an NFC Championship Game appearance for the first time in more than 30 years.
Not long after Jackson, defensive lineman Tyquan Lewis was the next Buckeye to land a new deal, re-signing with the Indianapolis Colts on a two-year deal. The deal will pay Lewis up to $12 million, with $7.7 million guaranteed, according to reports.
Elsewhere in the AFC South, the Houston Texans signed former No. 3 overall pick and star Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah to a one-year $4.75 million deal, where he will likely start opposite of standout Derek Stingley Jr.
Okusah is coming off of a one-year stint with the Falcons, after spending the previous three in Detroit before being traded.
The Texans also re-signed receiver Noah Brown to a one-year contract after a breakout season but lost former Buckeye punter Cam Johnston to a three-year, $9 million deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Finally, the Baltimore Ravens agreed to re-sign former Ohio State linebacker standout Zach Harrison to a one-year deal.
As of Tuesday morning, there are still 14 former Buckeyes available on the free-agent market.
