Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams gave his team reason to celebrate after returning from a three-game absence and leading a 31-23 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
The Bears made their confidence clear Wednesday, posting on X, “ICYMI: @CALEBcsw is so back.” The message followed the announcement that Williams had been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his Week 6 performance.
Williams completed 30 of 36 passes for 305 yards and one touchdown, finishing with a 111.2 passer rating. He threw no interceptions and completed 83.3% of his attempts, the highest single-game completion rate by a Bears quarterback with at least 30 attempts.

The performance carried added significance because Williams had missed three games with a hamstring injury. He returned with sharp timing and accuracy, completing his first 12 passes and helping Chicago score touchdowns on its first two possessions.
His connection with tight end Colston Loveland produced a 14-yard touchdown on the opening drive. Williams also spread the ball around, connecting with eight different receivers as Chicago built a 31-7 lead before Atlanta rallied late.
It is the second weekly conference honor of Williams’ career.
Chicago improved to 4-2 with the victory, strengthening its position in a competitive NFC North. The defense also made a key late play, as Kyler Gordon forced a fumble to help stop Atlanta’s comeback attempt.
The Bears now prepare to host the New England Patriots on Thursday night. Williams’ return gives head coach Ben Johnson’s offense a boost, but sustaining that efficiency will matter more than one award-winning afternoon.
After missing valuable time, Williams has offered Chicago a clear sign that its passing game can regain momentum in coming weeks as the season moves forward.
