Ben Roethlisberger wants Steelers to 'have fun' on Wild Card Weekend

The Pittsburgh Steelers may have squeaked their way into the playoffs to round out the Ben Roethlisberger Farewell Tour, but they're still a long shot to defeat the Chiefs in Kansas City on Super Wild Card Weekend.

With that in mind, Roethlisberger himself said he hopes his team just has a good time.

"I would assume, as a group, you understand that we probably aren't supposed to be here," he said, via ESPN. "We probably are not a very good football team. Out of 14 teams I think are in, we're probably number 14... We're probably 20-point underdogs, and we're going to the No. 1 seed, the No. 1 team. I know they're not the No. 1 seed, obviously, but they're the No. 1 team that has won the AFC the last two years, arguably the best team in football.

"We don't have a chance. So, let's just go in and play and have fun."

On one hand, Roethlisberger isn't wrong. The Chiefs are heavily favored to win next weekend.

Then again, those aren't exactly inspiring words from the guy who's been leading the team for almost two decades.

It's also possible Big Ben is still reeling from a stressful Sunday night of not knowing if his team would be in the playoffs or not. Pittsburgh managed to win their own Sunday matchup against the Baltimore Ravens but was still dependent on Sunday night's Raiders-Chargers game not ending in a tie.

That game, of course, went into overtime, leaving Roethlisberger wide awake on East Coast time.

"I wish I would've went to bed instead of stayed up with the stress," Roethlisberger said. "But what a crazy, crazy game. Crazy ending. You go into the evening excited about getting in and then your hopes start to dwindle there for a little while. And then the last drive, you really think they're going to play for the tie. But there's other plans out there."
