While the hype surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders this season is something to behold, one person is betting big that that is just the tip of the iceberg.
According to Yahoo! Sports betting analyst Ben Fawkes, one DraftKings bettor has placed a $25,000 wager on the Raiders to win Super Bowl LX on April 9, 2026. The Raiders were sitting on 100-1 odds at the time the bet was placed, meaning the user is set to win $2.5 million if the Silver and Black do hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
There is buying into the team’s strong offseason, and then there is taking it as literally as this person is.
The Raiders have made plenty of upgrades, from Pete Carroll as head coach to Geno Smith at quarterback to sixth overall pick Ashton Jeanty at running back. These three surely add to the level of excitement in Las Vegas, and it is expected that they will improve on the ghastly four-win campaign last season.
All of that being said, such a heavy wager might be optimistic to a fault.
According to DraftKings, the Raiders face long odds to win the AFC West with +12000 odds; for context, the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos are tied at +2800 odds. They are also sitting at -425 odds of missing the playoffs entirely, making them the sixth-highest favorite in that category (Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, New York Jets, Tennessee Titans).
