The Denver Broncos, fresh off a thrilling comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles , are making their final preparations for the upcoming Week 6 matchup against the New York Jets in London, England.
A devastating update hit the team ahead of the contest , with offensive lineman Ben Powers needing surgery, and was placed on injured reserve. One of quarterback Bo Nix's top protectors will be out for the foreseeable future.
It wasn't all bad news coming out of Denver, though, as the team announced on Wednesday that they've designated defensive tackle Malcom Roach to return from injured reserve. Now, the team can activate Roach to the 53-man roster at any point in the next 21 days, and he would be eligible to play in the upcoming Week 6 contest if the team feels as though he's ready.
Roach is an important piece on the defensive front, and a huge rotational piece being added to the mix.

"He had good work today," head coach Sean Payton said about Roach on Wednesday.
Roach is a six-year veteran in the league who recorded over 40 tackles, two and a half sacks, eight quarterback hits, a forced fumble, five tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, and two passes defended in the 2024 season.
The veteran defensive tackle played in 17 games for the Broncos last season and suffered a calf injury before the Week 1 matchup against the Tennessee Titans and has been sidelined ever since.
Denver's defense has been stout through the early stages of the season, once again leading the league in sacks and making life miserable for opposing offensive coordinators.
Having a 2 sack lead on the entire NFL should be impossible after just 5 games. But that’s where we’re at w/ Broncos pass rusher Nik Bonitto. Here’s all 7… pic.twitter.com/easpMKIWfp

Roach's addition not only bolsters the pass rush but also helps with the run, with Roach being a disruptor in the interior of the defensive line.
If Roach is cleared to play for Week 6, his return could give Denver even more depth up front as the team looks to build on its momentum overseas.
