Cardinals’ Jacoby Brissett drops hilarious admission on new offense

Generations ago, the Cardinals wereknown for their penurious ways. That has apparently changed as NFL revenues have skyrocketed. As a result, the Cardinals have given Brissett a significant bump in pay. He will earn $15.5 million and incentives will give him the chance to earn $21 million.

First-year Arizona head coach Mike LaFleur is breathing a sigh of relief because he needs his QB1 in camp to learn the nuances of his offense. LaFleur was quite happy to hear the news of the raise in pay for Brissett. “It’s good. Happy for him. Happy for our team. It was productive. For it to get done now, sooner than rather than later, it’s good,” LaFleur said.

Brissett admitted that he needs time to learn the new head coach’s offense. He met the press after getting the news that he wanted about his salary and was asked if he knew the offense. “Oh, hell no,” Brissett announced without hesitation.

Kyler Murray had been the Cardinals starting quarterback for seven years, but he was traded to the Minnesota Vikings after injuries had limited him in two of the past three year. Brissett completed 315 of 485 passes last season for 3,366 yards with 23 touchdowns and 8 interceptions last season.
