The Cowboys have been dealing with injuries all season long. However, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler revealed a positive update on the Dallas injury front — including WR CeeDee Lamb and first-round pick Tyler Booker.
According to Fowler, Lamb, Booker, as well as fellow WR KaVontae Turpin are all eyeing a Week 7 return. That means they’ll be down in numbers once again against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
“They are really beat up, but Lamb and others could be back, I’m told, next week,” Fowler said. “That is sort of the loose plan, depending on how practice goes, leaving the window open for them. So they’re going to be out Lamb (this week). He’s looking at this two-three week window where he’s been trying to return.
Lamb is currently dealing with a high ankle sprain. It occurred last month against the Chicago Bears while he was taking a handoff out of the backfield — an unusual spot for Lamb to be in given his position as a wide receiver. Just after crossing the line of scrimmage, a Chicago Bears defender rolled over on Lamb’s ankle. He’s been out ever since.
It’s the same injury for Booker, which happened in the same game. Booker is in his rookie season with the Cowboys, who selected him 12th overall out of Alabama during the 2025 NFL Draft. He started the first three games of this season at left guard before going down with his injury.
Meanwhile, Turpin is nursing a foot injury. He’s expected to miss his second game in a row against Carolina this weekend. Like Fowler said, he’s trending toward a Week 7 return.
The Cowboys will look to have their offensive weapons back. However, Dallas QB Dak Prescott has been among the best players at his position this season despite the ailments surrounding his favorite weapons. The NFL veteran currently ranks second in the NFL with 1,356 passing yards, third in the NFL with 10 passing touchdowns and boasts a 76.5 QBR (third best in NFL).
Dallas currently sits a 2-2-1, good for third in the division. Though, the Eagles loss on Thursday Night Football against the New York Giants has closed that gap alongside the Washington Commanders.
Kickoff between the Cowboys and Panthers is set for 1 p.m. ET and will air live on FOX. Dallas is a three-point betting favorite heading into the weekend, per BetMGM.
