The Chicago Bears are bolstering their roster for the upcoming season. Chicago won the NFC North title last year after finishing with an 11-6 record, their best since 2018. The Bears defeated their longtime rivals, the Green Bay Packers, in the Divisional Round. Unfortunately, they fell to the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card Round.
Chicago’s offense was its main weapon last season, as it was one of the top offensive teams in the league. However, the Bears’ defense was seen as their main point of improvement, despite being the leader in takeaways last year.
This is why the Bears made the move to acquire Coby Bryant this offseason.
The 27-year-old safety from Cleveland, Ohio, is making the move to Chicago from the Seattle Seahawks. Bryant helped the Seahawks win Super Bowl LX with four tackles in their 29-13 win over the New England Patriots.
Bryant was Seattle’s fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He made his mark early, playing all 17 games in his rookie season. Bryant also forced four fumbles and had 70 combined tackles in his first year in the league.
The 2021 Jim Thorpe Award winner became a crucial part of Seattle’s defense.
Bryant will now be taking his talents to the NFC North after signing a three-year, $40 million contract with the Bears. He joins a young core led by head coach Ben Johnson.
The former Cincinnati Bearcats star posted on Instagram ahead of his first offseason with the Bears. Bryant shared the video with a bold message.
“Scratching the surface ! Chicago we lit !!! Year 5!”

This is a clear indication that he intends to bring a lot to the table for Chicago.
The Bears were left speechless by Bryant’s statement. The Bears had no words in their reply, instead using emojis to express their reaction to Bryant’s message.
“
” commented the Bears.
The 2026 NFL season will be an exciting one for Chicago, and Bryant is expected to play a key role for the squad. The Bears lost a number of key players on the defensive end of the ball, and Bryant will do everything in his power to fill the void.
