Chiefs Announce Unexpected Injury Update Before Cowboys Game

The Kansas City Chiefs are now 6-5 after a 23-20 overtime win against the Indianapolis Colts.

Patrick Mahomes' team responded after back-to-back losses to the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos, both of which came by one score.

Kansas City still trails Denver and Los Angeles in the AFC West standings, but this game might have been a big momentum-builder against one of the top seeds in the conference.

The Chiefs now enter a short week with a game against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, and they have a few injuries they are dealing with.

One of them is offensive lineman Trey Smith, who is " likely" to miss the game after suffering an injury.

On Monday afternoon, the Chiefs released an injury report, although it was a bit unexpected because they did not hold a practice and they called it an "estimation.", meaning a lot can change over the next few days.

"Today's injury report is an estimation. We did not hold a practice."

Smith's likely absence was reported earlier on Monday, but Rice and Worhy being limited participants, at least in the estimation, will be a situation to monitor over the next few days.

Pacheco missed another game due to the injury, but his being estimated as a full participant is good news for his possible return on Thursday.

The Chiefs have to travel to Dallas for the Thanksgiving Day game, so there should be some clarity on the injury report before they land in Dallas.
