The Kansas City Chiefs might see inclement weather disrupt their Week 9 game on "Monday Night Football" against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season, the Chiefs' game against the Baltimore Ravens unexpectedly faced an inclement weather delay. Thunderstorms in the area of GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium forced players inside during warm-ups and delayed kickoff by roughly 20 minutes. A weather delay could happen again for the Week 9 tilt with the Bucs, but it could be even more substantial.
KSHB-TV meteorologist Lindsey Anderson mapped out the weather situation on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that storms will impact tailgating and could potentially impact kickoff on Monday. Periods of heavy rain and frequent lighting are expected during the storms
Chiefs Kingdom - we made it to GAMEDAY!! The Chiefs are finally back home & it's going to be VERY soggy. Heavy rain & frequent lightning will be dangerous for tailgaters, so please be aware! The storms move out between 7-9pm, drying out for the remainder of the game.@kshb41 pic.twitter.com/ttSao962Vy
