Commanders HC Ron Rivera: Brian Robinson is in 'good spirits'

Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson is being treated for his injuries after being shot two times in the lower extremities during a suspected armed robbery attempt Sunday evening in Washington, D.C. A contingency of Commanders team officials were at a local hospital with Robinson and his family, including head coach Ron Rivera.

After visiting with Robinson, Rivera provided an update saying Robinson is in “good spirits.”

It’s unclear the extent of Robinson’s injuries. However, the team confirmed he has non-life threatening injuries in a statement released late Sunday night. Rivera’s update on Robinson is promising.

Brian Robinson flashed throughout training camp and preseason. He looked primed to be the Commanders starting running back heading into Week 1 of the regular season. Hopefully he’ll make a full recovery and can continue his pro career.

We all will have to wait for further updates to learn of Robinson’s status pertaining to playing.
