The Dallas Cowboys are off to a 2-2-1 record to start the 2025 season, although Dak Prescott has been sensational and has been mentioned in the early MVP conversations.
Through five games, Prescott has already tallied 1,356 yards and 10 touchdowns against just three interceptions. He's second in the league in passing yards (behind only Matthew Stafford) and third in touchdowns (trailing Jared Goff and Stafford). Even better, Prescott has done it without his top wide receiver in CeeDee Lamb, who has been absent for their last two games.
Unfortunately for Prescott and the Cowboys, their injury woes continue. Lamb has already been ruled out for their Week 6 game against the Panthers, and more starters are in danger of sitting out as well.
According to the Cowboys , cornerbacks Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland are both questionable for the game. Diggs is dealing with a knee injury, while Bland is nursing a shoulder issue. The two have been limited in practice all week due to their ailments.
Diggs and Bland played in Week 5 against the New York Jets and had 11 combined tackles between them. The Cowboys already rank bottom on passing defense in the NFL, so the potential absence of the two cornerbacks could be a big problem for a team that has been too reliant on Prescott to win games.
The Cowboys play the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday. That being said, there's still time for Diggs and Bland to recover and hopefully suit up for the showdown.
