Cowboys' New 'Eberflus Guy' Helping Bring Locker Room Together

In the first wave of NFL free agency, the Dallas Cowboys addressed their defensive gaps by acquiring multiple projected starters.

Jack Sanborn, a linebacker signed from the Chicago Bears, is the latest to speak on the leadership he intends to bring the new faces and young core.

"I'm pretty much an open book, easy to talk to, very approachable, I'm willing to do anything to help everyone else learn," Sanborn said.

That willingness to help will be vital for the group's familiarity with new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. Sanborn learned under Eberflus while he was the head coach of the Bears.

Sanborn understands the adjustments that will be made in the new system, but also the familiarity with one another in this new-look defensive unit.

"Relatively, we kind of have a decently young room, and so just doing whatever I can with the most knowledge of the defense right now ... to help guys get up to speed and just help each other out ..." he said.

"Because at the end of the day, we're all in this together as one."

Those might be refreshing words to the ears of Cowboys Nation - who may still be reading headlines about the fall out of Micah Parsons' and DeMarcus Lawrence's online squabble.

Sanborn - we project as a Day 1 starter in the middle of the defense - is also bringing an immediate leadership mentality to his new team.

In his three seasons in Chicago, Sanborn has registered 164 tackles, 4.5 sacks and an interception.
