Drew Brees is 41 years old and set to play out his 20th season in the NFL, assuming he does come back in 2020. But he knows the end is near.
Speaking with SiriusXM NFL Radio, Brees opened up a bit about the “scary feeling that at some point” he will have to walk away from the game. He talked about how he’s been playing football for the past 30 years and acknowledged that he just won’t be able to continue playing at the high level he’s accustomed to indefinitely.
"There's still a little bit of a scary feeling that at some point you're going to have to walk away from the game, right?"

Brees also admitted that he struggles with the idea of walking away from the game but said that his next chapter in life will be even better than the last.
The good news for New Orleans Saints fans is that is sure sounds like Brees is set on coming back in 2020, even if in the meantime his representatives have been looking into the potential of a broadcasting career after he retires.
