Fantasy Football D/ST Rankings: Who To Start Week 3?

While some fantasy football defensive teams are worth starting every week, I hereby give permission to start aggressive streaming.

Two games in, we know a lot — not everything, but a lot — about the immediate future of some of these D/ST units.

Some squads who’ve been bulldozed by elite offenses finally get a break in the schedule, and they’re worth a pickup for at least this coming weekend’s action.

See below for my Week 3 D/ST fantasy rankings, who love a few of those downtrodden teams who could rebound, especially with sacks.

Focusing on sacks and the limitation of points scored, with moderate weight given to takeaway potential

Fantasy Football D/ST Week 3: Start ‘Em

Lions D/ST (33%) vs. Jets

Expect plenty of sacks against this Jets team with Geno Smith under center. Aidan Hutchinson should feast at home, finally getting a break after facing the up-tempo Saints and Bills offenses.

Chiefs D/ST (34%) vs. Dolphins

Malik Willis versus a Steve Spagnuolo scheme feels like a deer-in-headlights mismatch.

Maybe Miami will get garbage-time points to chew into Kansas City’s fantasy ceiling, but expect an easy day at the office for the Chiefs’ pass rush.

Giants D/ST (4%) vs. Titans

While they still have to play Monday Night Football, the Giants should be a deep-league target in case all these other top D/STs are taken.

This pass rush should torment Cam Ward.
