First-round NFL mock draft

The NFL regular season is in the books, so much of the draft order is now set. Here's a look at our mock draft as of Jan. 9, 2019.

1 of 32

1. Arizona Cardinals: Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State

Matthew Emmons / USA Today Sports Images

Bosa missed nearly all of 2018 due to injury, but he remains the consensus top prospect in the draft. He would look great along the Cardinals defensive line with Chandler Jones, but they could trade down to a quarterback-needy team.

2. San Francisco 49ers: Quinnen Williams, DT, San Francisco 49ers

Jason Getz / USA Today Sports Images

Williams' stock has skyrocketed this season, making him the top defensive tackle on the board. He's potentially dominant, with eight sacks and 18 tackles for loss going into the CFP Final. San Francisco remains in a position to take the best player available.

3. New York Jets: Josh Allen, OLB/DE, Kentucky

The Jets need help along both the offensive and defensive lines, though the pending hire of a new head coach could have an impact on what they do with the third pick. Allen is coming off a terrific year, with 17 sacks and 88 tackles for the Wildcats.

4 of 32

4. Oakland Raiders: Ed Oliver, DT, Houston

Oliver's stock has slipped a bit due to injury, but the defensive tackle was still extremely disruptive in his eight games this season. He finished with 54 tackles and three sacks, and the Raiders desperately need help along the defensive line.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU

Williams ran the table as the top cornerback prospect all year, doing nothing to sacrifice that status. He finished the season with two picks and 33 tackles in 11 games, as teams threw away from him. The Bucs showed a leaky secondary all season, so this is certainly a need.

6 of 32

6. New York Giants: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State

New York Giants: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
Aaron Doster / USA Today Sports Images

Haskins is the top quarterback prospect if he declares for the draft. He completed 70 percent of his passes for 4,831 yards and 50/8 TD/INT in an incredibly productive year. While he's ready to play in the NFL, it remains to be seen what the Giants will do with Eli Manning.

7 of 32

7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Will Grier, QB, West Virginia

Jacksonville Jaguars: Will Grier, QB, West Virginia
Ben Queen / USA Today Sports Images

A productive winner at both Florida and West Virginia, Grier might not be a starter at the next level but has a high floor. That's exactly what the Jaguars should be looking for at this point after years of Blake Bortles and, currently, a top defense. Grier finished his career completing 67 percent of his passes for 3,864 yards and 37/8 TD/INT last season, but he doesn't have the mobility that we've seen in most quarterback prospects recently.

8 of 32

8. Detroit Lions: Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson

Detroit Lions: Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson
Jim Dedmon / USA Today Sports Images

Ferrell had 11.5 sacks through 14 games for the Tigers this season and has been extremely productive in three consecutive years. While the Lions had the fourth-best sack rate in the league this season, they could still use more punch on the defensive line.

9 of 32

9. Buffalo Bills: Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama

Christopher Hanewinckel / USA Today Sports Images

Buffalo had some issues along the defensive line this season and has an immediate need at right tackle. Williams has been a consistent and dominant starter for the Crimson Tide over the last two years.

10 of 32

10. Denver Broncos: Drew Lock, QB, Missouri

Denver can't afford to miss at quarterback again after whiffing on Paxton Lynch and getting mediocre play from Case Keenum this season. Lock throws a beautiful deep ball, but his play on shorter throws and under pressure has been a work in progress. He had a career-high 62.9 percent completion rate but regressed to 3,498 yards and 28/8 TD/INT in his senior season. He could sit for a year behind Keenum as he continues to develop.

11. Cincinnati Bengals: Devin White, LB, LSU

Kim Klement / USA Today Sports Images

Cincinnati needs to refocus its draft on defense after that side of the ball showed its age this season. Vontaze Burfict's football future is in doubt after more concussion issues, but White is a great replacement candidate. He finished the year with 123 tackles, three sacks and three forced fumbles for the Tigers.

12 of 32

12. Green Bay Packers: Rashan Gary, DE, Michigan

Gary had a good year but played only nine games due to injury. He finished his junior season with 38 tackles and 3.5 sacks, showing his ability as a pass rusher and stopping the run.

13 of 32

13. Miami Dolphins: Daniel Jones, QB, Duke

Nell Redmond / USA Today Sports Images

Miami's new head coach could ultimately determine whether it's time to move on from Ryan Tannehill. If the Dolphins do move forward, Jones displays first-round ability after showing great improvement last season. With limited talent around him, Jones, who has above-average mobilitiy, had 22/9 TD/INT and 2,674 yards in 11 games.

14 of 32

14. Atlanta Falcons: Cody Ford, OT/OG, Oklahoma

The bulky Ford has been flying up draft boards and could be an answer in the first round at either tackle or guard. The Falcons have needs in both areas, as they try to add to center Alex Mack and left tackle Jake Matthews.

15 of 32

15. Washington Redskins: Deionte Thompson, S, Alabama

Jason Getz / USA Today Sports Images

Washington has a major need at safety, and Thompson looks like the top prospect on the board. Through 13 games, he had 75 tackles, two picks and six passes defensed for Alabama.

16 of 32

16. Carolina Panthers: Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss

Cam Newton continues to take too many hits behind an offensive line that still needs revamping. Little should be ready to start immediately at either tackle spot.

17 of 32

17. Cleveland Browns: Jeffery Simmons, DT, Mississippi State

Cleveland is comfortable at defensive end with Myles Garrett and Emmanuel Ogbah, but the Browns could use more beef inside. A productive player for the Bulldogs over the last three seasons, Simmons totaled 163 tackles and seven sacks in his college career.

18 of 32

18. Minnesota Vikings: Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida

Minnesota's offensive line continued to be its weak link this season, struggling to establish a consistent running game and forcing Kirk Cousins to be hurried at critical times. Taylor has played both tackles in college and could also move to guard as a pro.

19 of 32

19. Tennessee Titans: N'Keal Harry, WR, Arizona State

Tennessee Titans: N'Keal Harry, WR, Arizona State
Joe Camporeale / USA Today Sports Images

Corey Davis has been as advertised since the Titans drafted him last year, but the team was still lacking other weapons for Marcus Mariota this season. Harry is a great deep threat and red-zone target at 6-foot-4, and he finished the season with 73 catches for 1,088 yards and nine scores in 12 games.

20 of 32

20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Deandre Baker, CB, Georgia

Finding consistency opposite Joe Haden at corner was an issue for the Steelers all season. Baker has been a solid player for the Bulldogs over the last three seasons, finishing his career with 40 tackles and two picks in 2018.

21 of 32

21. Seattle Seahawks: Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson

Lawrence had a much-publicized suspension for PEDs during the College Football Playoff, but he's still the best run-stopper along the defensive line available. He had 36 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 13 games for Clemson this season.

22 of 32

22. Baltimore Ravens: Jachai Polite, DE, Florida

Baltimore Ravens: Jachai Polite, DE, Florida
Kim Klement / USA Today Sports Images

Every year we ask how much longer Terrell Suggs is going to play. Baltimore has capable pass rushers, but Polite would be one more in a deep defensive line class. He had 11 tackles and 19.5 tackles for loss in his junior season.

23 of 32

23. Houston Texans: Irv Smith Jr., TE, Alabama

Houston Texans: Irv Smith Jr., TE, Alabama

Bill O'Brien probably still dreams of having an elite tight end after what he had with Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez in New England. The team took two interesting prospects in Jordan Akins and Jordan Thomas in last year's draft, but Smith is an immediate impact player. He had 40 receptions for 667 yards and seven scores through 14 games in his junior season at Alabama.

24 of 32

24. Oakland Raiders (via Bears): Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma

Wide receiver is also on Oakland's radar after trading Amari Cooper. Brown has been a key playmaker in one of the country's elite offenses over the last two seasons, and he finished with 75 receptions for 1,318 yards and 10 touchdowns this year. He'd be a welcome big-play speed threat.

25 of 32

25. Philadelphia Eagles: Derrick Brown, DE, Auburn

The Eagles have continued to prioritize their defensive line, but it remains to be seen how much longer Michael Bennett or Chris Long will play. If either player hangs up his cleats after this season, defensive line help is in play in one of the deepest classes in recent memory. Brown is a load at 6-foot-5, 325 pounds, and he had 4.5 sacks and 48 tackles this season.

26 of 32

26. Indianapolis Colts: A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss

Derick E. Hingle / USA Today Sports Images

Andrew Luck got fine contributions from T.Y. Hilton and Eric Ebron this season, but he could use further help. Brown shows star potential, peaking with 85 receptions for 1,320 yards and six scores this season.

27 of 32

27. Oakland Raiders (via Cowboys): Zach Allen, DE, Boston College

Greg M. Cooper / USA Today Sports Images

Don't be surprised if the Raiders use at least two of their three first-round picks on pass rushers, considering how inept they were at getting to the quarterback this season. Allen is a capable pass rusher, though his stock did decline slightly after finishing with 100 tackles last year. He had 6.5 sacks and 61 tackles in 2018.

28 of 32

28. Los Angeles Chargers: Devin Bush, LB, Michigan

Brad Mills / USA Today Sports Images

Bush's productiveness dropped off this season, but the linebacker was still a strong player in one of the country's top defenses, with 4.5 sacks and 66 tackles. He's capable of strengthening an already strong Chargers defense.

29 of 32

29. New England Patriots: Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson

New England Patriots: Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson
Jim Dedmon / USA Today Sports Images

Wilkins has been a durable and highly productive player on the elite Clemson defensive line over his four seasons. He had five sacks and 47 tackles through 14 games this year and has the versatility Bill Belichick looks for on the line.

30 of 32

30. Los Angeles Rams: Montez Sweat, DE, Mississippi State

Los Angeles Rams: Montez Sweat, DE, Mississippi State
Vasha Hunt / USA Today Sports Images

The Rams got plenty of pass rush in the interior of their defensive line with Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh this season, but they clearly felt defensive end was a need this year. Sweat had 22.5 sacks and 101 tackles over the last two seasons.

31 of 32

31. Kansas City Chiefs: Amani Oruwariye, CB, Penn State

Kansas City Chiefs: Amani Oruwariye, CB, Penn State
Matthew OHaren / USA Today Sports Images

The Chiefs clearly need to address the secondary after they struggled there this season. Oruwariye is a nice fit in the mold the Chiefs look for as a big press corner. He had 50 tackles and three picks in 13 games this season.

32 of 32

32. Green Bay Packers (via Saints): Chauncey Gardner, S, Florida

Green Bay Packers (via Saints): Chauncey Gardner, S, Florida
Kim Klement / USA Today Sports Images

Green Bay continues to rebuild in the secondary, trading Haha Clinton-Dix during the regular season. Gardner had a great junior season for the Gators, with 71 tackles, three sacks and four interceptions.
