The New York Giants got good news on the injury front after Jaxson Dart’s on-field scare Monday against the Los Angeles Rams.
Dart suffered a concerning knee injury after getting squashed between two Rams defenders early in the first quarter at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. The Giants quarterback was able to walk off the field under his own power, but that did not quell fears of a potentially severe injury (video here).
The second-year QB was later ruled out for the rest of the game. With Jameis Winston stepping in for Dart, the Giants lost 28-6.
NFL Network reporter Ian Rapaport provided an update on Dart’s injury after the game. Initial examination reportedly showed Dart had a sprained MCL. While X-rays were negative, further testing would be done on Tuesday.

The update is a huge win for the Giants, who will likely get Dart back within the season. The 23-year-old even attempted to re-enter Monday’s game but was barred by New York’s medical staff.
Dart was not available for a postgame press conference and was seen wearing a brace as he spoke to teammates in the Giants’ locker room.
Dart went 3/5 for 20 yards on the Giants’ opening drive before being taken out of the game.
