The New York Giants waived kicker Jude McAtamney on Tuesday after he missed two extra points during Sunday's improbable 33-32 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

The Giants went into the fourth quarter with a 19-0 lead, yet lost when the Broncos scored 33 points over the final 14:08 of the contest.

McAtamney first missed an extra point in the second quarter. That led to the Giants going for a two-point conversion in the third quarter that was unsuccessful. McAtamney missed another extra point with 37 seconds remaining that kept New York's lead at 32-30.

The Broncos then drove 56 yards in 31 seconds and won the game on the final play with a 39-yard field goal from Wil Lutz.

McAtamney, a native of Northern Ireland, joined the active roster for the Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Chargers and made two field goals and one extra point. He also missed an extra point in a Oct. 10 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. He converted 2 of 2 field goals and 9 of 12 extra points during his four-game run with the Giants.

Veteran kicker Graham Gano, who has not played since Week 3, is eligible to return from a groin injury for Sunday's rematch against the Eagles at Philadelphia. New York also has kicker Younghoe Koo on its practice squad. Koo was waived by the Atlanta Falcons after missing a last-second 44-yard field goal in Week 1 that would sent the Falcons' game against Tampa Bay into overtime.
