'Good chance' Seattle Seahawks trade QB Russell Wilson?

What appeared unthinkable only one month ago now seems like it could, and maybe even will, occur ahead of the NFL Draft that opens on April 29.

During a Thursday appearance on ESPN's "Get Up," NFL insider Dianna Russini reported that some within the league believe there's "a good chance" the Seattle Seahawks could trade unsettled quarterback Russell Wilson this spring for the right offer.

Russini's comments are similar to what Albert Breer wrote for Monday Morning Quarterback this week.

"My answer was 95% no and 5% yes a few weeks ago, but I’m around 60-40 now," Breer explained about the Seahawks potentially trading Wilson. "I do believe Wilson has likely signed his final contract as a Seahawk, absent something changing, and that if the Seahawks come to that determination, they’d deal him before the end of it. I’m just not sure Seattle will do it now unless a trade brings an easy path to replacing him."

Add in that the Chicago Bears are reportedly "prepared to throw a boatload of picks" at Seattle for the 32-year-old one-time Super Bowl champion, and the situation becomes even more interesting. Previous stories suggested the Seahawks want three first-round draft selections included with other assets for Wilson, and logic suggests a "boatload of picks" would match such a valuation.

Most teams in the NFL would love to have Wilson as QB1. Whether or not any will match Seattle's price remains in question.
