Carter called Fitzgerald “lucky” that his career wasn’t derailed because of the inept decisions by Arizona. The 2026 Hall of Fame inductee would never bad mouth his former team and had stellar success during his NFL career. Fitzgerald was second All-Time in receiving yards, despite some of the woeful choices that Carter was alluding too.
It’s hard to consider that a wide receiver with these type of numbers could’ve had a better career, but it’s definitely possible. The two best quarterbacks during Fitzgerald’s tenure was a late 30s Kurt Warner and Carson Palmer. Before, between and after those names is filled with quarterbacks under center that didn’t deserve to be.
With Fitzgerald heading to Canton, Carter let loose to call out the franchise for its truly awful way of running things for years, which is clear shot at owner Michael Bidwill.
