The New York Giants aren’t panicking—and neither is John Harbaugh.
After Malik Nabers publicly questioned the team’s draft decisions during a livestream, Harbaugh made it clear there’s no issue inside the building. In fact, he welcomed it.
Nabers’ comments came after the Giants selected linebacker Arvell Reese, where he openly wondered how the team planned to use him, especially given overlap with existing players. It caught attention quickly—but not in a negative way internally.

Harbaugh didn’t shut it down. He leaned into it.
The new Giants head coach said he and Nabers had a “great conversation” the very next day, explaining how the team plans to use Reese and clearing up the confusion.
And more importantly, Harbaugh respected where Nabers was coming from.
He emphasized that Nabers wasn’t being negative—he was being curious. He was talking football. He wanted to understand the plan. And in Harbaugh’s eyes, that’s exactly the kind of mindset you want from one of your top players.
That’s why Harbaugh made it clear: he’s not worried at all.
In fact, he basically said the opposite—players should speak their minds as long as it comes from the right place.
This is where the story actually flips.
Instead of drama, this looks like culture-building.
Nabers didn’t double down or create tension. After talking with Harbaugh and understanding the vision, he was reportedly “fired up” about how the Giants plan to use Reese moving forward.
That matters.
Because for a team trying to reset under a new head coach, moments like this can go one of two ways—fracture the locker room or strengthen it.
Right now, it looks like the Giants are choosing the second.
And if Harbaugh continues to handle things like this—open, direct, and player-first—the Giants might finally be building something real.
