Joe Burrow has surprising request for NFL's schedule-makers

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has shared a few thoughts on his team's 2025 regular-season schedule, and you may be surprised to hear one of the requests he has for the NFL.

Burrow was asked during his media availability on Tuesday if there is anything that jumped out to him about Cincinnati's schedule this upcoming season. The star quarterback first admitted he was not thrilled that the Bengals are playing a prime-time road game against the AFC North rival Baltimore Ravens for the fourth consecutive year. Burrow is hoping the Ravens and Bengals will play a prime-time regular-season game in Cincinnati in 2026.

Burrow was also unhappy to learn that the Bengals are playing all 17 of their games in the United States.

"You know, part of the reason I wanted to do the 'Quarterback' show (on Netflix) is I wanted to help grow the game internationally. So, to not have a stage like that is a little disappointing," Burrow said. "I feel like I've consciously worked hard to try to grow the game internationally over the last 18 months or so, so hopefully at some point in my career we can go over there."

The NFL has scheduled a record seven regular-season international games for the 2025 season. A total of 13 teams (the Minnesota Vikings have two international games) are playing games in Brazil, England, Germany, Ireland and Spain.

What makes Burrow's complaint unusual is that countless players have complained over the years about having to play games internationally. The travel surrounding those games can be quite tedious, and players typically do not like deviating away from their normal schedules in the middle of a season.

Hopefully none of Burrow's teammates feel that way, because their leader has officially volunteered them to travel overseas next season.
