Once a Cardinal, always a Cardinal - right?
Former Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald hasn't played in some years, unofficially retiring on his own terms and is certainly set to land in the Pro Football Hall of Fame upon first eligibility.
Fitzgerald played for Arizona his entire career and is widely accepted/loved by not only Cardinals fans, but practically the entire league as well.
But don't get it twisted - Fitzgerald is still loyal to the organization.
At a PGA event, a San Francisco 49ers fan asked Fitzgerald for a photo - but Fitz only complied on condition: the fan's jacket turned inside out so the 49ers logo wouldn't show.

It was all in good fun and both sides had a nice laugh - for those on the internet folding their arms and throwing fits about the encounter.
Fitzgerald last played for Arizona in 2020, and though he won't be suiting up any more to catch passes from Kyler Murray, he did give a ringing endorsement for the organization to take Marvin Harrison Jr. in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft:
“If he's there, I hope we get him. Kyler (Murray) would love to throw it to him. I saw him working out at Ohio State some years back. I’m a big fan of his father (Hall of Famer receiver Marvin Harrison), and from everything I’ve heard, he’s just a good hard working young man," said Fitzgerald.
