Lions PFF grades against Saints: Highs and Lows
Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions won a squeaker on Sunday when they went out to New Orleans and nearly gave away a 21 point lead before getting on track and beating the Saints 33-28.

Now it's time for Pro Football Focus grades. They're now out and here's the Lions highest graded guy along with the highs and the lows from Sunday's game.

Highest Graded

This should come as no shock to anyone. Sam LaPorta is the Lions highest graded player from Sunday with a 90.7 grade. LaPorta went off for the Lions and caught nine catches on nine targets for 140 yards and a touchdown. The Lions had a lot of trouble with the Saints secondary on Sunday and LaPorta handled the attention the teams receivers got very well.

Highs

  • Aidan Hutchinson: 89.9. While Hutchinson didn't get home on Sunday, he was his normal pressure inducing self in this game. PFF credits him with six hurries on Sunday. He also walked out with two TFL's and a quarterback hit.
  • Penei Sewell: 80.4. Sewell allowed a sack on Sunday. That was the first time he's done that since Week 10 of the 2022 season. Other than that, Sewell played a great game.
  • Jared Goff: 77.7. Goff answered nicely after two bad games with a lot of turnovers. He handled the pressure well in this one for sure. Especially on the games final play when he had Saints defenders all over him and still managed to complete a huge pass to Josh Reynolds.

Lows

  • John Cominsky: 49.9. Cominsky did not have a good day at all on Sunday. He struggled to get pressure and he struggled against the run too. This should open the door for more Bruce Irvin.
  • Jonah Jackson: 48.8. Not a strong return for Jonah Jackson in this one. He was good against the pass, but really struggled in the run game. He graded out at 50.2 in the run game and that dragged down his 72.8 pass block grade.
  • Colby Sorsdal: 45.9. The Lions need to hope that Frank Ragnow's injury isn't a long term one. Teams are really picking on Sorsdal. He allowed a pressure and a hurry on Sunday. That was an improvement from the three pressures and two hurries on Thanksgiving.
