The Detroit Lions could be a team to watch during the 2026 NFL Draft. Detroit does not want to stay complacent after a disappointing 2025 campaign, which could lead to some fireworks on draft night. But that doesn’t mean the team cannot have a little fun before the big event.

The Lions kicked off their offseason program on Monday, inviting players to Allen Park for the team’s voluntary workout program. Detroit’s social media team took the opportunity to have some fun before the draft.

Lions fans were puzzled when the team’s official X account posted a series of vague messages on Monday. It turns out it was Detroit’s own players who made those posts.

The Lions’ social media team posted a video on Monday, showing players drafting their messages as they arrived at voluntary workouts.

Tyleik Williams and Tyler Lacy posted the message “91 & 93 SEASON!”, a reference to each player’s jersey number.

Malcolm Rodriguez made a post that could have easily come from the social media team. He posted “We back and ready to work!” along with a triumphant emoji.

Some players were not as mysterious with their posts. In fact, newcomer Christian Izien posted a very transparent message.

“Christian izien here! Just checked in!! What up doe!!! #LionsPride,” Izien posted.

Lions cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. took the prize with the most mysterious post. The third-year cornerback posted “live your life with no regret because tomorrow is not promised.” Rakestraw’s message was perfect in part because some fans assumed it was somehow related to the upcoming draft.

Detroit’s social media team is certainly keeping fans on their toes ahead of the draft.
