Los Angeles Chargers Are in Huge Trouble

Chargers’ Upcoming Schedule is Brutal

Coming into the season, these two home games against the Raiders and Cardinals were penciled in as wins for the Chargers by most analysts.

However, Los Angeles lost both games, and now they are severely behind the 8-ball, with no cupcake schedule in sight for the team.

In Week 3, Los Angeles takes on the Buffalo Bills, who are one of the best teams in the AFC. They are likely going to lose that game.

In Week 4, the Chargers take on the defending Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks, and it would be surprising if Los Angeles won that game.

Week 5 isn’t any easier, as they battle the Denver Broncos, the defending AFC West champions.

Then, in Week 6, they take on another AFC West rival in the Kansas City Chiefs, who are looking like Super Bowl contenders once again, as they’ve started the young season 2-0.

Week 7 brings another brutal matchup when the Chargers take on their crosstown rivals, the Los Angeles Rams, in another game they will be heavy underdogs in.

In Week 8, they battle the Houston Texans and their vaunted defense in another tough game.

It doesn’t get any easier in Week 9, when they take on the Baltimore Ravens on the road.

The Chargers could realistically start the season 0-9, as they will be favored to beat the New York Jets in Week 10.

But the Jets are actually playing good football this season, so it wouldn’t be a total shock if that game was more difficult for Los Angeles than it looks on paper.

The rest of the season sees Los Angeles take on the New England Patriots, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Raiders again, the San Francisco 49ers, the Miami Dolphins, and then the Chiefs and Broncos to close out the year.

I’ll give the Chargers wins over the Jets, Buccaneers, Raiders, and Dolphins, but that’s it.

That would put them at 4-13, which would not be close to sniffing the playoffs.

Whether it’s the brutal schedule or maybe the Chargers just aren’t very good, either way, this team looks to be in big trouble this year.
