The New York Giants entered an emotional Sunday evening opener before facing the Dallas Cowboys. Wide receiver Odell Beckham vowed this 2026 opener was dedicated to his first NFL fanbase. Fans inside MetLife Stadium eventually lost their minds in a good, euphoric way in seeing Beckham again.
OBJ brought back his famed blonde hair style before catching his first pass in his NYG return. But the Giants delivered a kind gesture to the returning wideout: By introducing him to the crowd first.

He even sent out a poignant message with NBC Sunday Night Football before the opening kickoff.
“I got to learn so much about myself and who I am [here]. This is about to show who I am, not who I was,” Beckham said. “Right now I just want to be at my best and bring whatever I can to this team at the highest level.”

Beckham is now 33 and also rejoins his former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh in New York. But Giants fans vividly recall the dominance he showed in his early NFL career.
The former LSU star exploded onto the scene with delivering three straight 1,000-yard seasons in his first three years of his career. He also caught between 91 to 101 receptions during that span as Giants quarterback great Eli Manning fed him the football. Beckham became a three-time Pro Bowl selection in the process while also becoming New York’s next beloved football star.
So Beckham received the loudest roars inside MetLife. He watched his Giants take a 14-7 lead into halftime.
