On Monday, Madden NFL 26 unveiled its video game cover, spotlighting Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley.
Naturally, the reveal drew reactions from both current and former NFL players, including former Eagles quarterback Michael Vick-- who knows all to well what it's like to see your own face on your childhood dream video game.
Vick was featured on Madden's 2004 edition, sporting his Atlanta Falcons uniform then. After six seasons in Atlanta and a two-year absence from the league, Vick returned to the NFL with the Eagles in 2009. He remained with the team through 2013 before finishing his career with brief stints on the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers.
He had a wholesome message for Barkley and the rest of the Philly team following the Madden 26 reveal.
"This message is going out to Saquon Barkley. Saquon, congratulations on being the 2026 Madden cover athlete. I know this was a special moment for you," said Vick.
"Me being a former Madden cover athlete myself, I know what it really means to grace the cover. Congrats to your teammates as well, because without them, this don't happen. So, ya'll can all share this together. Keep doing you. Keep bleeding green. Keep believing in yourself. Keep trusting the process, as we say, because we know what that means. I know 2025 will be an amazing season for you. Stay healthy, and hope all is well, bruh."

It's true, Barkley couldn't have posted a 2,000-yard season without the help of the Eagles' sturdy offensive line that ranked among the top five last season.
Barkley finished the 2024 regular season with 2,005 rushing yards on 345 carries, finding the end zone 13 times on the ground. He also contributed through the air, adding 33 catches for 278 yards and two receiving touchdowns. His all-around performance earned him the NFL’s 2024 Offensive Player of the Year honors and played a key role in leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl appearance and Lombardi trophy.
