NFL Announcer Tom Brady Bracing For Punishment

NFL announcer Tom Brady is bracing for punishment after Week 2.

The NFL on FOX announcer was on the call of the Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders game on Sunday. The Cowboys won the game, 37-20. Dallas topped Washington in impressive fashion, after the Commanders lost star quarterback Jayden Daniels to a gruesome elbow injury.

“Oh (expletive),” said Tom Brady, as FOX showed a replay of the graphic injury at the end of the first half on Sunday.

While Brady’s reaction was a natural one, it could be a costly one, too.

Brady ultimately apologized for his choice of words.

“Excuse me. Was not expecting to see that. Oh man, [he] tries to brace himself with his left elbow and the left elbow [gives out],” he said.

Brady could be punished for his comments

Brady’s comments were an FCC violation, given that he swore on air.

“It remains to be seen whether FOX will punish Brady for his unprofessional remark, with journalist Michael Socolow noting that his comment directly violated the Federal Communications Commission’s indecency rules,” The Mirror reported.

“The FCC has statutory authority to issue fines for certain broadcast indecency violations, with a maximum of $325,000 per violation and $3 million for a single continuing act.

“Despite having the legal authority to fine individuals directly in applicable situations, the FCC has often opted to go after networks or broadcasters.”

Brady, who made hundreds of millions of dollars while playing in the NFL, is on a $300 million contract with Fox Sports.

If he gets fined, he likely can afford it.
