On Friday, the Kansas City Chiefs started their 2025 season with a loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, who are now 2-7 against KC in their last nine matchups. In this one, Kansas City struggled to start the game well on offense, as the one player they had gameplanned around, Xavier Worthy, ended up leaving the game with an injury within the first few minutes.
Worthy ran into Travis Kelce on a route and ended up staying down on the field for a good bit. He was later ruled out with an apparent shoulder injury. That left Mahomes with Hollywood Brown, Tavis Kelce, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and really Tyquan Thornton to throw the ball to. We're not sure what the injury will be, if Worthy will miss any time, and if so, how much time, but we do know that one free agent is already offering his services.
"No cap (cap emoji), Chiefs, I’m a free agent, I swear I could help y'all," Allen Robinson wrote on Twitter.
No , chiefs I’m a free agent, I swear I could help yall

The Chiefs are now 6-2 in season openers during the Patrick Mahomes era, with the other loss coming to the Detroit Lions in 2023, the last time the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. But you can tell that had the Chiefs not started slow, they would have won the game. They were great in the second half offensively, but ifs and buts don't win football games.
Not having his go-to target certainly hurt, though. However, adding Robinson wouldn't actually fix that. There is no way Robinson could replace what Worthy is going to be for this team, especially during the six weeks that Rashee Rice is out. But Robinson can be of use for the Chiefs.
His personality, as he goes back and forth with fans on Twitter who are saying he doesn't have it anymore, with actual receipts, is something the Chiefs miss and need, actually. They need their own Honeybadger again – a guy who just doesn't care to say how he feels, and has that edge to him.
They also need a guy with Robinson's skillset, which would be a bigger receiver who can get open and still get some extra yards after the catch. They need a guy who can be reliable for Mahomes and not make rookie mistakes. Robinson can be that for a handful of snaps a game. And, Robinson would be cheap, so when Worthy and Rice are both back, the Chiefs aren't stuck with a bad contract. So, it's actually not a terrible idea.
