NFL insider confirms recent suspicion a lot of people had about the Colts and it will have fans feeling very excited

The Indianapolis Colts created quite a commotion amongst their fans this week simply by doing something fairly common in the NFL. The Colts restructured star CB Kenny Moore II’s contract to create just under $4 million in cap space. They are not typically a team that uses this strategy, which led many to speculate that they could be preparing to make an even bigger move.

It seems like that speculation just got confirmed thanks to ESPN's top NFL insider, Adam Schefter. Schefter appeared on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday, and he shared his thoughts on the situation. And what he had to say will sound like music to Colts fans' ears.

ESPN's Adam Schefter shares that the Colts want to make some moves ahead of the NFL trade deadline

“The Colts are going to want to make some moves if they keep winning games,” said Schefter. The Colts are 4-1 after the first five weeks of the season, with their only loss coming on the road against the Los Angeles Rams in a game where they beat themselves more than the Rams beat them. If the season ended today, the Colts would be the top seed in the AFC and have a bye to start the playoffs. It's still early, of course, but the fact that they've put themselves in that discussion at all is more than anyone was expecting from them before the season.

A member of McAfee’s team specifically brought up the thought of the Colts trading for the Philadelphia Eagles' WR AJ Brown. That would be quite the splash, and with him playing under now Colts head coach Shane Steichen as his offensive coordinator in Philly, it could make sense. Personally, I think a win-now move by the Colts should come as an addition to their defense. The team could use upgrades at CB and edge while their offense has been one of, if not the best, offense in the NFL to begin the year. The NFL trade deadline is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, following Week 9 of the season. And all eyes will be on the Colts and whether or not they can pull off a deal to bolster their chances of going on a deep playoff run.
