Joe Montana became one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history during his time with the San Francisco 49ers. From 1979 to 1992, he earned two NFL MVP awards and eight Pro Bowl selections while leading the 49ers to a perfect 4-0 record in the Super Bowl. The former Notre Dame national champion was later inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
But Montana has stayed busy since retiring from football, shifting his focus to investing. In 1999, he co-founded a venture capital fund-of-funds with former teammates Ronnie Lott and Harris Barton. After that fund folded a decade later, Montana launched another investment firm, Liquid 2 Ventures, which remains active today.
On Tuesday, Montana revealed his latest venture, announcing a partnership with Lululemon to help launch the brand’s new NFL collection. Featured in Lululemon’s “Welcome to the Fam Club” campaign were Montana’s wife, Jennifer, and two of their children, along with former NFL players Nick Foles, Ryan Clark, and Emmanuel Acho.
“Together with Fanatics, we are introducing an elevated collection that redefines modern fan apparel and is uniquely designed for everyday comfort,” lululemon's NFL Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Renie Anderson said. “lululemon boasts a loyal fan base built on culture, meaningful connections and innovation, qualities that thoroughly reflect the NFL.”
The new NFL collection was officially released on Tuesday and offers products themed around all 32 teams. Some of the items offered include half-zip hoodies, sweatshirts, pullover hoodies and jackets, both in men's and women's styles
"Nobody cheers louder than family," Joe Montana wrote on Instagram. "Grab the new @lululemon NFL Collection available at fanatics.com and NFLShop.com"
