Omarion Hampton Week 2 Fantasy Football Takeaways

After a tough Week 1, where Omarion Hampton scored just 8.3 points and the Los Angeles Chargers lost to the Arizona Cardinals, many were pressing the panic button. Hampton would then respond in a big way for Week 2 in fantasy football

Hampton would put up a much better showing, scoring 17.5 points. That came from 94 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown, but only 4.1 YPC. As a receiver, Hampton picked up two catches for 21 yards.

The problem is the Chargers were upset once again, this time by the Las Vegas Raiders. Another key problem, Hampton fumbled the ball once again.

Two fumbles in two weeks is a massive issue, and it’s something that will get him pulled off the field if it continues to happen. At this point, Hampton has to be on thin ice. That said, it is worth noting that in 2025, Hampton had 124 carries and only fumbled the ball once.

Omarion Hampton Week 2 Usage Breakdown

Now looking at the usage, in Week 2, Hampton was the clear RB1 in this offense, which is great to see. Keaton Mitchell had 17 snaps, and Kimani Vidal had 7, compared to Hampton at 42.

Mitchell only had five carries, but he did turn that into 24 rushing yards. It’s also worth noting that he had one catch on one target for 15 receiving yards.

Despite Hampton scoring 17.5 points, this game was not all great from a fantasy football perspective. Turning the ball over once again and the fact that the Chargers offense does not look great right now is worth being concerned about, despite feeling pleased with this week’s production.
