Caleb Williams impressed fans and analysts in his return from a three-game absence on Sunday. The Chicago Bears quarterback led the team to a 31-23 road win over the Atlanta Falcons, leaving Pat McAfee in awe of his performance.

Williams recorded 30-of-36 completions for 305 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions. He showed signs of rust and being hampered by the hamstring injury he suffered in Week 2. More importantly, Chicago improved to 4-2 this season and bounced back strong from the 31-7 Week 5 defeat to the Green Bay Packers.

The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner commanded the offense well and once again showed his calmness under pressure. Williams also hyped the traveling Bears fans even more after the game.

Pat McAfee gives Caleb Williams his flowers for Week 6 performance

McAfee posted a segment from “Monday Night Countdown” on his X account. He praised Williams and sent a strong message in his caption.

“Caleb Williams is HIM,” McAfee wrote.

The veteran analyst highlighted what the star quarterback achieved despite just recovering from his hamstring injury.

“Caleb Williams, he had a grade 2 strain of his hamstring,” McAfee said. “Missed a couple weeks. A lot of people were talking a lot of trash about him. A lot of people were saying, ‘Hey pal, If you can get back into Ben Johnsons offense and operate like Case Keenum or Tyson Bagent, you can become maybe the most efficient offense in history.’ He comes out, goes 10-for-10 with a touchdown. Two touchdown-leading drives to start.

“He goes for over 300 yards and becomes only a third player in NFL history to pass for 50 touchdowns and have fewer than 15 interceptions when doing so. The other two: Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson. He’s that good? Yeah. That’s why he’s Caleb Williams.”

Williams and the Bears have a short week ahead. They will return to action on Thursday when they host the New England Patriots at Soldier Field. It’s a big test for the team as the visitors have won three straight games. However, it’s gives Williams and Co. a chance to build on the momentum they have and continue silencing their critics.
