Philadelphia Eagles reserve wide receiver might miss Super Bowl

Earlier in the week, the Philadelphia Eagles appeared to be the healthier team before Sunday’s Super Bowl. However, they’re the only team with one player questionable for the game. The Eagles will play a Kansas City Chiefs team battling through injuries on the offensive side of the ball, including two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes.

According to the injury report released Friday, the Eagles listed Britain Covey as questionable to play the Chiefs Sunday. He is battling a hamstring injury. Covey was limited in Friday’s practice. The rest of the names on the injury report have no designation for the Super Bowl and should be good to go for the game.

Covey, an undrafted rookie free agent for the Philadelphia Eagles out of Utah, has no stats for the offense. However, he has been a big part of the Eagles’ kick and punt return game this season and postseason. His absence would change the dynamics of the Eagles’ special teams. Their special teams got a boost last week when reports came out that punter Arryn Siposs would be available to play against the Chiefs.
