Will Los Angeles Rams star Aaron Donald be able to win his third NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2020? It's possible.
According to BetOnline.ag, Donald has the best odds to be named the Defensive Player of the Year at +800. While Donald has solid odds to win the award this season, so do a few other players. Here's how the odds stack up for other players to win the award:
Donald previously won the award in back-to-back seasons in 2017 and 2018. The 29-year-old could've won the award in three consecutive campaigns, but New England Patriots star Stephon Gilmore snagged the award last season.
Last year, Donald recorded 12.5 sacks, 29 solo tackles, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and 24 quarterback hits. During the 2018 campaign when he won the award, Donald had a career year, recording 20.5 sacks, 41 solo tackles, four forced fumbles and 41 quarterback hits.
If Donald adds to his trophy case in 2020, he'll join Lawrence Taylor and J.J. Watt as the only players in NFL history to win the Defensive Player of the Year Award three times.
