Ravens Make Derrick Henry Announcement After Week 17 Win Against Texans

The best move the Baltimore Ravens made this year was signing running back Derrick Henry, who was tested free agency after eight seasons with the Tennessee Titans.

Alongside Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles, Henry has been one of the top running backs in the league this season. He has rushed 305 times for an impressive 1,783 yards and 14 touchdowns, averaging 5.5 yards per carry.

His dominance was on full display during the Ravens' Christmas Day matchup against the Houston Texans, where he rushed 27 times for 147 yards and one touchdown.

Following his incredible performance, the Ravens made a notable announcement regarding Henry’s achievement. According to Next Gen Stats, Henry posted an outstanding 74.1% success rate on runs with 25+ carries, the highest in the Next Gen Stats era.

Next Gen Stats released a detailed performance chart of Derrick Henry’s game against the Texans, highlighting all 27 of his carries, the yardage gained, and the success rate on each one.

Derrick Henry recorded a 74.1% success rate in Week 17, the highest by any player in a game with 25+ carries in the Next Gen Stats era (since 2016).

Henry has been a key factor in the Ravens' offensive success this season and will remain a crucial piece as they prepare for the NFL postseason in just a few weeks.

The Ravens now control their own destiny in the race for the AFC North title. A victory in Week 18 against the Cleveland Browns would not only secure the division crown but also likely clinch the No. 3 seed in the AFC.

That would set up a playoff matchup against the No. 6 seed, which could potentially be the Los Angeles Chargers. This could lead to a fascinating rematch between John Harbaugh and his brother, Jim Harbaugh, who faced off earlier this season in Week 12, with Baltimore emerging victorious, 30-23.
