Recap of Jon-Eric Sullivan’s NFL Combine Press Conference

Unlike Chris Grier, who hid from the media each year at the NFL Scouting combine and was the only or one of two general managers who wouldn’t talk to the press, Jon-Eric Sullivan met with the media on Tuesday morning and held a press conference.

Here are a few things he had to say.

Jon-Eric Sullivan said the Dolphins will draft a quarterback this year in April.

The Miami Dolphins are listening to offers for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, and everything is on the table.

Sullivan said the Dolphins are open to conversations about extensions with Jordyn Brooks, Aaron Brewer, and De’Von Achane, but those talks won’t happen until later this summer.

Sullivan said De’Von Achane and Jaylen Waddle are important parts to this franchise and they will listen to offers for both players, but they plan on having Achane and Waddle remain in Miami.

Sullivan hinted that Austin Jackson won’t be released but that his contract may be restructured.

Regarding Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb, Sullivan said Miami needed to get younger and cheaper.

When asked if Miami can move on from Tua and also sign Malik Willis, Sullivan tap-danced around the question but didn’t say no.

Regarding Tua, Sullivan said, “Everything is on the table” when it comes to Tua and his contract. He said Tua has not requested a trade at this time.

Sullivan said it is not likely they would release Tua and take the $99 million cap hit in one year.

Sullivan said he wants to get to a healthy cap situation
