ESPN's Courtney Cronin reports that the Minnesota Vikings will not permit fans to attend the Nov. 8 home game against the division-rival Detroit Lions.
Minnesota is currently coming off the bye week and preparing for this Sunday's road contest against the Green Bay Packers.
Minnesota Department of Health guidelines continue to cap indoor venue capacity to 250 people. This fall, the Vikings have permitted 250 family members of players and other Minnesota personnel to attend games to test stadium protocols with the hope that the team could permit some percentage of patrons before the campaign concludes.
As Action Network recently noted, the Vikings, Lions, Packers, Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, New York Jets, New York Giants, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and Washington Football Team are among clubs that haven't yet welcomed paying fans to games amid the worsening coronavirus pandemic.
Following the first full weekend of November, the Vikings host the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 22, Carolina Panthers on Nov. 29, Jacksonville Jaguars on Dec. 6 and Bears on Dec. 20. The club remains hopeful that local health and safety guidelines will allow it to welcome spectators to at least one home game before Christmas.
